I'm the founder of Hopeful Beginnings Suffolk. I came to counselling through my own experiences and the difficulties life had to offer, and in turn developed a deep interest in understanding people. From how our experiences shape us to why we think, feel, and respond in the ways we do. I find exploring our past and our present together to create understanding and meaning to be a positive and healing experience.
Over time, I became increasingly aware of how much of what we carry makes sense when it's understood in context, rather than judged or diagnosed. Counselling felt like a natural place to bring that curiosity, offering a space where people can explore their experiences in a way that feels safe, thoughtful, and genuinely understood.
I offer one-to-one counselling for individuals.
I work in a relational and thoughtful way, paying attention to patterns, experiences, and the things that may not always be easy to put into words.
Together, we make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at a pace that feels manageable for you.
There's no expectation to have things neatly explained. This is a space where you can bring what's real, even if it feels messy or unclear.
I believe that people are shaped through relationships, environments and early experiences rather than being inherently "good" or "bad." Many of the ways we think, feel, and respond make sense when understood in the context of our lives.
I believe life is not simple or black and white, but instead complex, flawed and paradoxical. Navigating the complexities and polarities of life can be difficult and sometimes needs someone, such as a therapist, to help find the way forward.
Therapy isn't about fixing or fundamentally changing who you are. It's about developing understanding, reducing self-blame and creating space for something different over time.
I am a qualified counsellor holding a BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling. This means I was trained in an integrative approach that draws on relational and psychodynamic ways of working, combining skills and techniques from many different theoretical perspectives.
How I work is shaped not just by training, but by a genuine interest in understanding people and the contexts that shape their experiences.
My practice is supported by ongoing clinical supervision and guided by the ethical framework of the BACP, helping to ensure that I work safely, thoughtfully, and within my competence.
